ABOUT US
It all started in a meeting with my kid’s school principal. She mentioned the school was preparing to spend $42,000—over $30 per student— on a market-leading solution to secure cell phones. That moment sparked a question: Isn’t there a better way?
I went home and asked my kids about the system. They told me it was imperfect—easy to bypass, and while it worked to some extent, it didn’t justify the cost. That’s when I realized: schools could build the same phone-free culture for a fraction of the price, freeing up funds for other critical needs.
So I began building. Rizzlock is now in its 8th version, shaped by feedback from teachers, principals, and like-minded parents. The early prototypes were too weak, too easy to break. But each iteration brought us closer to a solution that was strong, simple, and affordable.
The name “Rizzlock” comes from a cultural truth: kids think they have “rizz” on social media. But true charisma—real confidence—can only be learned through face-to-face human interaction. Phones in classrooms rob students of that opportunity. They distract, isolate, and inhibit both academic and social growth.
Rizzlock is designed to serve everyone in the school community—students, teachers, administrators, and families. It’s more than a product. It’s a path to restoring an authentic and enriching childhood education experience. It’s a way to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and foster real human connection.
We believe that doing what’s right for kids shouldn’t require an angst-filled budgetary process. That’s why Rizzlock is just $12—a price point that makes phone-free classrooms accessible to all schools, regardless of background or resources.
Our vision is simple:
To be the company that makes it possible for all schools to return to a healthy, phone-free learning environment.
We hope Rizzlock is remembered not just as a product, but as a movement—one that made it possible for all.
